Operational Auditor at Västra Götalandsregionen

On behalf of the elected auditors, we review the region's committees, boards, and companies within healthcare, regional development, culture, and public transport.

The auditing work is conducted in a positive spirit and with a supportive purpose. Our mission is to review whether the region's operations are managed in an appropriate and financially satisfactory manner, whether the accounts are fair, and whether the internal control within boards and committees is sufficient. The goal of our work is to identify and highlight areas for improvement through audits and dialogue, providing the elected auditors with a solid basis for decision-making in their accountability assessments.

The Audit Unit consists of 14 employees, of which 12 are operational auditors supported by an administrative function and a communicator. The Audit Unit is led by the audit director and is located in Gothenburg and Skövde.

Your Mission

As an operational auditor with us, you will be a knowledgeable assistant to the elected auditors. The work involves planning and conducting audits. The audits are reported both in writing and orally, which includes writing reports and presenting results in various contexts. The work also includes contact with the operations being audited and the elected auditors of the auditing collegium. You will conduct both basic audits and in-depth audits of specific operational areas or issues based on identified risks.

We primarily work in teams where you will have the opportunity to lead and develop certain teams and be a team member in others. You will have significant opportunities to contribute independently and in collaboration with other employees to ensure that we collectively deliver a high-quality audit.

To succeed in the role, you need:

• A minimum of three years of higher education in political science, economics, law, or another field that the employer deems valuable for the assignment.
• Several years of work experience in operational auditing or other qualified analytical or investigative work.
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

As a person, you have:

• The ability to understand new issues and assignments.
• An interest in development and see learning as stimulating.
• Good analytical skills and are collaborative.
• A desire to contribute to a pleasant workplace.

It is meritorious if you:

• Have experience in operational auditing.
• Have experience from regional healthcare or regional development.
